Simplicity is not about communication alone
"Philips claims do deliver simplicity. Is this a marketing stunt or do Philips products really contribute to simplicity in life?"
Simplicity, or more appropriately the ability to do more with less, is growing as the leading differentiator among technology products. In an age where everything contains a microchip with some sort of technology embedded, more and more emphasis is put on usability and overall user experience. Yes, marketing and communicating simplicity is important, but the true relevance comes with creating products that truly embody that same philosophy.

dingo thinks: Let's face it, products especially in the computer and electronics categories perform more complex functions than ever before. They have a muiltitude of features. The shift to simplicity, or usability, is the result of this added complexity. If todays products are not simplified, there is no point to their existance as most people will retaliate by not buying complex products. People will always choose to purchase the most intuitive and usable products. Simplicity in the user experience is the future, not just a trend.
Gem thinks: Today's technology products are not as simple as they could be. Much is said talked about simplicity, but very little is put into practice. Companies shouldn't have to advertise simplicity, it should should be evident everyday in their products. Companies should not just strive for simplicity, but actually deliver on it in the final product.
