No more keyboards & mouse needed
"Imagine... We speak and it types... we track with our eyes click with them instead of the mouse..."
The keyboard and mouse have been around as long as the personal computer with little change to the technology. Are these the best tools to interact with a computer? Most agree that they may not be the best tools, especially the keyboard, but they have become the most prevalent tools. Based on cost and familiarity, it is the standard that most people have come accustomed to. New products may come along, but it will take quite a drastic change to replace these methods of interaction. Perhaps voice recognition or eye tracking is the answer, but we may have to wait a bit before that technology is perfected enough to become mainstream.

JBonnin thinks: Once the technology is affordable, I´ll rush to it. In the meantime, I´ll stick with mouse and keyboard.
SimplyOverwhelmed thinks: I think there are times that voice recognition and eyeball tracking would be excellent but there's a place for both. People with disabilities already benefit from reasonably good voice recognition but then visually impaired people would be lost if eyeballs tracked. As for me, I am more coherent when I write or type so I would hate to have to dictate my thoughts. On the other hand, it would be nice to relax sometimes. Yes, a good mixture would suit me fine.
