Grammar
"Is grammar and spelling important in modern society?"
It is undeniable that grammar is important to our everyday written and verbal communication. Its importance must not be overlooked. However, the world as we know it is changing quickly as a result of technology. Thanks to text messaging and instant messaging, our language is evolving each day and we, as a society, must learn to accept these changes and evolve with them.

JBonnin thinks: A good written expression allows a richer communication for sure. But it is true that in a world where we may easily communicate with people from several countries, we need to be more indulgent and flexible in order to benefit so many amazing possible exchanges of ideas.
tlittleton thinks: The widespread use of text messages and the rise of a new language is an exciting step in our continually evolving language. However, I would like to see more emphasis put on ensuring that good use of grammar and spelling is still maintained in communication not relying on speed. For example forums like this, emails, letters etc. There is no reason why we can't all express ourselves correctly without resorting to 'u ur gr8'. Let's hope I've spelt this all correctly though!
