Identity fraud - how secure are we online?
"With so many sites requiring online registration and passwords people are more likely to use the same details again and again or resort to writing login details down. Surely this leads to a bigger risk of identity fraud - is there an alternative?"

When it comes to online security, most agree that both the individual and the participating governments or companies should each take some responsibility in keeping their personal information secure. Logins and passwords are now so prevelant that is has become increasingly difficult to maintain and remember this vital information. As a result, technology must become proactive in making information secure while still giving the user options to access systems in a way that is less confusing and does not require multiple levels of security.

JBonnin thinks: Due to the amount of operations through the net, governments must try their best to turn it secure.
SimplyOverwhelmed thinks: Once you have more than two or three IDs to juggle online, it becomes almost impossible to keep everything in order without making a note somewhere or keeping all passwords the same. Both options create their own safety concerns. Somehow technology needs to be proactive and not create more and more options without at the same time creating ways to keep us all safe.
