Movie downloads
"Amazon and iTunes have joined the growing number of online venues selling movie files. But are they a real alternative in terms of price and quality?"
As time goes on and technology advances, we are faced with more and more options when it comes to delivery of digital media. Although most agree that delivery of movies over the internet is incredibly convenient, it seems that quality of picture and sound still has quite a way to go. Sure, movies and videos look good on portable devices, but the level of quality will need to see great improvements before we can experience true movie theater quality in our homes.

Roadmeister thinks: The more options, the better. Sometimes going out for or buying a DVD works, but mostly it is much easier to download or stream.

Basically the same as with music. As music was not available to download legally, I became a bit of a pirate but switched to paying when that became easy and affordable. Since my cable TV provider has movies availble for download I have started using that. The main obstacle for now is very limited choice, but that is bound to change fast.

Talking about Simplicity, I just want to see the feature film and can never be bothered with the so called extra's, so a download is fine for me.

JBonnin thinks: Of course a downloaded film offers less resources than a manufactured dvd.

But it is always important to diversify the means of access to films. Maybe the result won´t be a fancy collection of dvds, but it will ensure that a more and more people will be able to watch them.
