24-hour living
"If drugs originally invented to treat disorders like narcolepsy could be developed further and made safe for widespread general use it would be possible for people to go days without sleep. Is 24-hour living the future? In a world where so much is happening can we justify to sleep? "

Although 24-hour living might be scientifically feasable, would we want to accept this lifestyle? Probably not. We are living creatures that need rest in order to function properly and live a healthy, productive existance. A life without sleep would inevitably lead to reduced productivity as everyone would be relying on drugs to stay awake, in turn becoming zombies, numb to the world around them. Sleep is a vital part of daily existance and should be thought of as a healthy bodily function that makes most even more productive in their waking hours.
