The rating icon

Each contributer has a rating, shown as an icon. This is calculated from how many times that contributer has made a point and had others agree or disagree with it. Each posting has an agree/disagree button next to it, and the combined results of these are displayed in the Rating.

In addition, clicking on a contributer's rating icon will allow you to view a breakdown of what others think of that contributer, what the contributer thinks of others, plus a summary of their activity on the site, and other items of useful information.

Reporting inappropriate activity

Below each posted comment there is a button which states "Is this comment inappropriate? Report comment".

Click on this to report the comment above it. The report will go directly to the moderators who will judge whether to remove it. The site is monitored round the clock and various filters are in place to prevent, for example, profanity, but it is always possible for inappropriate, off-topic or offensive material to get past, and the sooner contributers report these, the sooner they can be removed.

LiveSimplicity tracker

The tracker is a visual aid to keep you up to date on your chosen discussion.

Each coloured ring in the tracker represents a comment. The colour of each ring is determined by the person who submitted that comment. A green ring means that comment agrees with view A, a blue ring means that comment agrees with view B and a white ring means that comment agrees with neither.

Each colour ring also has a shade. This determines whether people agree or disagree with that comment. The darker shade means that more people disagree with that comment than those that agree with it. The lighter shade means that more people agree with that comment than disagree with it.

The thickness of each ring determines the total amount of people who have agreed and disagreed with that comment. So the thicker the ring the higher the interest in that comment.

The rings are displayed in chronological order. The comment which was submitted first is at the centre of the tracker. The last submitted comment appears at the outer edge of the tracker.

There are two versions of the tracker.

A downloadable tracker sits on your desktop allowing you to keep an eye on a number of discussions whilst you are away from LiveSimplicity.com. Only one discussion be displayed at a time, but by clicking on the left and right arrows, you can cycle through the discussions that you have decided to track.

The tracker you access on LiveSimplicity.com represents the current discussion you are viewing. You can only access the tracker (View full-size tracker) once you have selected to view a discussion. The tracker you access from there will represent that discussion.
