Measurements as used in the United States are vastly different than used in the rest of the world; however, even European countries use miles per gallon or other non-metric forms of measurement. Should the metric system be the standardised form of measurement to be used by all? It's difficult to say if this will make things more efficient, but it will simplify the various forms of measurement into one, easy to use standard. The metric system has been around for ages and is generally used in scientific study giving it the advantage of wider use. Most agree that changing over to metric and ridding ourselves of other, outdated forms of measurement is the solution. The question then becomes, does the benefit outweigh the cost of implementation?

priceaam thinks: Lets go to metric, at least get everyone on the same system. While we are at it if everyone spoke one langugage it would make things a whole lot easier.
digiammarco thinks: We all know it will take ages.... why don't we start right away?
