In the quest for Simplicity it is worth asking where do ties come from... and whether they are going to be around for long? Will Simplicity finally take over ?
Ties are part of a formal dress code that is here to stay. Together with the grey suit, they create a powerful combination that conveys seniority and is the accepted standard to conduct business. Besides, ties add no complexity...

Ties have their days counted and suits will follow in the road to extinction. These will soon be part of the funny pictures that show how people used to look like in the past. Who needs this useless complexity anyhow?

luukthinks: Ties are still a sign of seniority -- but to my view are already phasing out in our day to day environment. And let's be serious -- what is it that this funny triangulary piece of clth is adding?
Geek1thinks: I don't think ties are going anywhere. They've been around for hundreds of years and will probably be around for much more, although it may evolve a bit. A suit and tie, in a sense, is a uniform that shows your status in the business world. I think it's important for individuals at a certain level of authority to dress the part. Plus, a well cut suit can make an average person look very sharp.
JBonninthinks: Not for a question of simplicity, but of health, doctors should not wear a tie anymore. Several researches have revealed that physicians wearing neckties who come in close contact with patients may be carrying around infectious microbes.
richathinks: Formal wear with a tie always looks smart and professional.A man in lose bag like jeans or casuals portray a lazy image.Infact in real life we do feel more positive and professional when dressed in formals with a tie.
I am a female and I just get attracted to men with a formal attire at work place/important ocassions rather than those hugging lose jeans and casuals. The tie gives them an air of a man who can take any challenges professionally and also the client take them seriously. Its a sign of 'SMARTNESS' and wearning a tie is not that complicated
GenCthinks: I'm afraid to say that dies might soon be a relic of the past. Although they look sharp with a nice suit, the workplace is becoming more casual and a suit is now thought of more as a status symbol versus everyday attire.
NCalabrothinks: Subconsciously, I agree that a tie gives an individual a sense of seniority and a certain business-like quality that other attire can not portray, but in this day and age, professional dress is moving more and more towards causal business dress.
