krisrajz questions:
Eco Friendly Products
Anything that we buy should use:

Less electricity, product less noise, pollute less, use less packing materials. should be recyclable etc.,

There needs to be a system where each product should have ratings based on these metrics.

Clarebrosnan thinks: it is not just about using less, the whole idea of going green is using less virgin material and extracting less raw material. re-using the current products, changing design to reflect that. the whole green debate is a huge kettle of fish. i agree with you that we must use less electricity and resources, though don't neglect the environmental aspect. also if we all use less resources bills will decrease so your better off in the wallet also!
sandhyapillalamarri thinks: Product designers are constantly trying to convince their leadership about using eco-friendly materials and design. Designers are often making ROI presentations and talking through use cases to illustrate the benefits of designing green. In order to do lessen the burden on product designers there should be an appreciable level of understanding from leadership who are interested in investing in green design. Some level of training around eco-friendly designing, costs associated with it, the positives and negatives, etc. can make a difference.
