It could integrate lighting, security systems, and even allow me to turn the lights on and off while I'm away. An interesting feature might be to also show me power consumption over the span of a month. Just make sure you meet my criteria: - Invisible. Or at least as small as possible. Remove all wires and boxes and let it disappear. - Self configuring. Have already spent too many valuable hours attaching DVD recorders to TVs, PC to TV etc. - Easy to use. My wife must be able to use it without me having to play the role our our home's "technology operator." - Providing real value. I don't need all kinds of crazy gadgets that just waste my time and create a mess. - Low power consumption. Power prices are going up and the lifetime cost of one device versus the other can be substantial.
