Holiday shopping simplified
simpleton thinks: i prefer online shopping but sometimes it's not practical. example...finding earphones for your portable music player that a) fit b) comfortable c) give good sound...better to try them on in a shop and i want an earpiece that fits my ear perfectly so someone make an earpiece that is flexible and moulds to fit my ear not a half-baked off the shelf solution one size fits all cos they don't

How can we simplify x-mas?
JBonnin thinks: Socially, I really don´t think there is a way to any claimed pure spirituality.

Individually, you are free to celebrate Christmas however you wish, or not even celebrate it.

For those who do have children, it is just impossible to deny them the joy of taking part in this festival in which all their colleagues will be getting their presents and family parties, unless you wish your children to become bitter.

How can we simplify x-mas?
Alexkaatsch thinks: Get rid of it. As a religious festival it's inaccurately dated and attracts a social minority of believers and as anything else it's merely a dumb excuse to waste money and get drunk.

Computers as entertainment devices
Richinteraction thinks: PCs will soon merge with other digital devices to the point where we will have 1 entertainment "hub" in our homes which will provide everything from IPTV to games, search and online banking. Why have more than 1 device when you don't need it? Simplicity is about reducing the need for separate devices

Public transportation vs. driving
annbanan24 thinks: Public transportation is obviously the better choice when many people live within a small geographic area. The environmental benefits far outweigh the concerns about convenience. We've got to be more willing to give up certain personal perks such as freedom of movement if we're going to protect the environment. A failure to do so will result in the loss of many more freedoms in the long run.

Holiday shopping simplified
wicherbos thinks: i agree on-line shopping makes life comfortable; however it is an addition to the usual shopping, so presenting just two view is misleading. You will always need both, depending on the mood and time available you choose the appropriate channel

Computers as entertainment devices
abum96 thinks: Convergence is inevitable. Just look at the new iphone. When given the choice, consumers would rather have everything in one I would think.

Computers as entertainment devices
newman42 thinks: I like the idea of keeping things separate. Gaming consoles tend to upgrade every four or five years while computers used for things such as email and web browsing could potentially last a lot longer without needing upgrading. This could at least slow down obsolescence to some extent without detracting from the experience. Microsoft's Xbox 360 is a great example of keeping these systems separate while still coexisting and sharing resources.

Managing contact lists
Aos thinks: I like to keep all my contacts within Gmail although this doesn't help when I change to a new cell phone. It's getting easier now that phones are equipped with data cables to interface with the computer, but there is still not a all-in-one solution that I have found to store all my contacts.
