Continuity of care
dhama thinks: Mayb an electronic card that everyone could carry that contains medical history, after all we think nothing about credit/debit cards for our financial issues.

Do books really need technology?
dhama thinks: Making things easier doesn't always make things better, however there are times when either electronic form or paper printed form are very useful for the job in hand. The point of new technology is not always to replace old technolgy, but to enhance the user experience or usefulness of it for any given purpose.

idesign thinks: A unified system will allow a physician to see your life story thereby creating a picture of you as a person and would make it easier for them to diagnose any current issues you have. I think it's a great idea!

Continuity of care
donnam thinks: I think that this is the very reason why it's a good idea to have one main doctor (I hesitate to say Primary Care Physician because that is too HMO), someone who is aware of all your history and issues. Who knows of your allergies and what other drugs you may be taking before prescribing something new. Also if you have to go to a specialist for more specific care, your own doctor is able to fax or send over your medical history and you don't have to rely on your own memory of what you were treated for three years ago.

ozmoregulation thinks: okay........ now it says the correct time since I placed my view. People must not rely on so much technology. There's a living being, a whole person, interact with that person first then look up some information. People are being told time and time again "you'll never walk" or "you'll never get the feeling back in that hand" or "Your child will be handicaped ..." THIS MUST NOT BE WRITTEN IN STONE (or on a system) because it's not always the played out reality! People get up and walk, feelings do come back for some and children find other links in the brain to overcome missing parts and HOPE must not be taken away! Fresh thought without influence can bring fresh hope!
