martboxthinks: The market for computing/electronic devices has broadened over the last few years, everyone has a mobile phone, and these and other household devices increasingly use a menu interface to control them. Peoples knowledge and assumptions of how to use these products has increased but the variety and complexity of products available has also increased, so my oppinion is that the net complexity has not changed. From a marketing perspective a product would be better perceived to be easy to use and visually simple to understand, but also feature packed. More features usually means more complex to use, for example the more options you get on your mobile phone the harder it is to find what you want to do with it.

Are traffic lights dangerous?
martboxthinks: Small junctions in 30mph areas don't need traffic lights, but 40mph+ areas on rush hour routes need congestion management so need lights. (If traffic lights were really that much of a safety problem it would have been clearly identified years ago)
