24-hour living
nicolaallsopp thinks: Sleep is vital - where and when does your body rest?

You are at your best when you have slept and been refreshed.

Imagine a world without sleep thats complete exhaustion and zombies walking around.

Yes life is short and make the most your time - but how can you do this when you are relying on medication to get you through each day, this is where multi-tasking comes into it, making schedules so that everything can be fitted in, and have an have no less than 5 hours sleep a day.

This is just another way of living a shorter and medicated life - you are destroying your body in the process and overloading your mind as well.

Sleepless Society
nicolaallsopp thinks: Its easier said then done - if find if i have over 8 hours sleep i am more tired when i wake up - I f i have less than 8 hours when i wake up i am refreshed.

As one who has a work, university, social and family life - i never get 8 hours so i aim to get at least 5 hours a night.

Life is to short and i wanna make the most of it - them 3 hours i loose of sleep i making it up either working, studying - learning more, socialising and sepnding time with my family - all which are great investments.

i have with Insominia and its nice, but i trained my body to get tired, by being more active and setting myself a time frame for bedtime, so that i can wind down a hour before hand and relax, so that i am tired, i also exercise before bedtime.

I would never rely on tablets to get me to sleep - it is just the lazy approach to training your body. I dont want my body to be reliant on pills. In this society there is a pill for everything i want to be able to train my body to fight off the simpliest of colds and to get some sllep every night rather than take a pill. Try out alternatives - hot bath/candles/lavender/calming music/exercise, etc.

Sustainable energy
nicolaallsopp thinks: It is time we started finding other alternatives and switching to these alternatives.

When will they hurry up and start the change process - when the fuel is at its lowest. What then do certain people get priority of who gets the alternative power first while the rest are running out.

This change is not going to happen as quick as it should unless a majority of the public start demanding it. And you get rid of the mony hungry people that just want to make billions from the industry rather provide a service.

The government should go back to running the fuel business so independant companies dont take advantage of it.

Only the general public can speed this process up and makes these changes happen. Its in the publics interest for these changes to happen and as quiclky as possible - to prevent the way of life.

Are schools necessary anymore?
nicolaallsopp thinks: Schools dont just provide education they provide social skills - in particular skills that they may not get taught at home.

What about parents - how are they able to work - when they are having to teach their children at home

This just gives children a big excuse to beat the system and et out of learning.

How can a teacher motivate a child via internet?

Distance Learning is great - i do it now to fit around other committments - but it is not great for a child, all they are gonna do is sit at a computer, wheres learning about physical development and interaction, also their interpersonal skills, socilaising, etc. There are so many disavantages.

This would be good for kids that need addtional educational support or are more over achieved and require more knowledge that the school cannot give, yes - but not on a whole.

Are email & text communication encouraging people to talk less?
nicolaallsopp thinks: It is true. How can we learn how to interact with one another and develop in relationships/friendships when we commuicate via the phone, text or email. There is no face to face communication there at all. It is good to talk - yeah - but face to face, to see ones emotions and reactions - this is how we develop our interpersonal skills. Technology is serioulsy taking over our lives and we choose it as its the easy way out. Look at it this way if you are feeling really down and depressed - how would you want to express how you feel? Over text/phone/email where no one can actually see you are down and they just think its not that bad or face-to-face where they can see you are down and depressed and you can see their geniune concern and where you can be comforted not just in words but physically also.

Sizes for clothes
SimplyOverwhelmed thinks: While I would like to see a standard sizing adopted, this seems unlikely in a world where even within one size there is such wide variations of measurement.

Sizes for clothes
Roadmeister thinks: Agree, this is just stupidity, especially when you now can shop across the globe over the Internet.

It does allow women to really feel good about them self though if they shop in a country where suddenly they are a 38 having been a 42 for their whole life.

24-hour living
Maven thinks: I like to sleep. It's enjoyable. It allows my body to feel refreshed. It allows your body to regenerate the energy and vigor it has used from the previous day. If humans didn't get sleep, we would quickly turn into a society of burnouts. What next, forget holidays?

24-hour living
AstridF thinks: I am not sure if it will be possible to keep track of time without sleep to split each day from each other.

24-hour living
donnam thinks: Sleep is so vital for your body that it shouldn't be taken away. Plus personally, I really enjoy sleep. It's one of life's simple pleasures for me!

richa thinks: Well!!! There are always some exciting work that takes away your sleep and you simply enjoy them.If I had not remained awake in those last days of my exams I would never have topped the university and had a good career. If you advise me that I should have studies whole year...its impossible for most student to do that as they have to persue other courses and interests. There are lot of skills I learnt keeping myself awake during days and nights and it is bearing fruits of my labour.I love those moments when it is darn and silent and I am awake and finding a solution to a complex problem.....

24-hour living
andreas thinks: It doesn't sound healthy for the body. But if they were proven free of risk and not damaging to the body, it would be a great invention indeed.

Sleepless Society
bman thinks: I believe that the presence of stimuli (TV, computer, games, etc.) in your bedroom can contribute to sleeping problems. A quiet (noise reduction) environment with no light or electronics should already put you on the way to a full-night's sleep. If not, perhaps view A is applicable.

Sleepless Society
mzellers thinks: one needs to listen to one's body.

if one can't sleep - one's body is saying something and a person ought to listen to it...

Sleepless Society
Geek1 thinks: I hate to say it, but I was having trouble sleeping and I starting taking some prescribed sleep medication. I've never felt more awake and rested during the day. Sometimes it's just a physiological problem and not necessarily stress or health related. It was a simple fix for me.
