Is cash necessary anymore?
Roadmeister thinks: I would happily get rid of cash, but the retail environment does not allow it yet.

Every bank seems to need to develop it's own payment system and so do most countries and even companies like Google seem to find a need to have their own payment method.

So if I could I would but for npw cash remains king, especially for micropayments.

Do books really need technology?
Roadmeister thinks: Have to agree with JBonnin. I cannot see (and do not want) books to dissapear but there are times and places where an e-book would probably be more suitable and cost-effective.

I remember thinking that audio books were stupid until I discovered that they were great for long car journeys.

Flat TV
Roadmeister thinks: The current state of affairs is a mess. Not only should peripherals such as DVRs, set-up boxes etc. be integrated but home entertainment should be truly multi-media. You can buy a decent home cinema set and a decent audio set but you cannot buy a system that does both well (at least on a budget).

Movie downloads
Roadmeister thinks: The more options, the better. Sometimes going out for or buying a DVD works, but mostly it is much easier to download or stream.

Basically the same as with music. As music was not available to download legally, I became a bit of a pirate but switched to paying when that became easy and affordable. Since my cable TV provider has movies availble for download I have started using that. The main obstacle for now is very limited choice, but that is bound to change fast.

Talking about Simplicity, I just want to see the feature film and can never be bothered with the so called extra's, so a download is fine for me.

Is air travel getting too complex?
Roadmeister thinks: I have mixed feelings about this, I will try to avoid to travel to any meetings that can just as well be held by phone, pictel or web-conference Largely they are day-to day business meetings. If any convincing, selling or negotiation is involved I find that the benefits of a face-to face by far outweigh the troubles that travel creates.

Has the combination of cameras, phones and organisers worked?
digiammarco thinks: I was part of the "View B" bunch until I put my hands into a Blackberry... The beauty of having phone, e-mail, synchronized calendar, phone number agenda, calculator, alarm, and picture frame in one devise is beyond happines! And now that I have it, I find myself wishing that it also had mp3 player capabilities and a longer battery life...!
